I became an academic consultant because I wanted to help students out (which was something I loved doing even before CMP) and I wanted to take Raymond’s job hehe xD I also love teaching and watching people learn!
My interests are solving puzzles, playing Pokemon and other video games, hanging out with underaged girls (:^D cuz I’m underage ha get it) as well as managing a stocks portfolio. In my spare time, I am often seen playing video games, playing the piano and lecturing Raymond on how to do Expected Profit of Perfect Information.
Feel free to talk to me anytime if you have questions! I might seem super mean (and might actually be) but I’m always willing to help you guys out! 😀
The review packages made by the CMP Academic Consultants had helped me a lot with acing my exams last year. The review packages were what I would turn to for extra practice. Being part of CMP allows me to give back to this program and participate in this meaningful work of helping students in improving their performance on the exams.
I’m interested in a lot of things, including watching movies in IMAX 3D, completing my bucket list of “dishes to try in Vancouver” and going to fitness training to burn off the calories from eating so much.
During my spare time I think about food. I spend a good chunk of time browsing Facebook and @ing friends on silly videos and memes. I rarely had any spare time, and to be honest if I do have the spare time. I would love to lie on my couch and do nothing at all. I am also a consultant of dim sum-if you need any advice for where to go for delicious Cantonese dim sum, pm me on Facebook.
As a third year student, personally I found the courses (ex: COMM 205, COMM 290…) provided by CMP really beneficial to my upper-level studies. You may find them really fundamental in terms of the concepts taught in class, but they are literally the stepping stones of your further education. For example, do you know the IF function you learned in COMM 205 can actually be used in financial modelling? In other words, it is crucial to be able to master the knowledge taught in these courses, and thus I want to take this chance to help students succeed in these course, as well as enforcing my own understanding of the course materials. Last but not least, I love teaching because I love making positive changes to the best of my abilities!
My interests are cooking, flower arrangement, interior design, everything related to Finance :D. I love to explore the city, go hiking and skating with friends, read books, always on my way discovering more decent dessert places and add them to my food list!!!
I decided to become an academic consultant because I thought it would be a new learning experience for me to lecture and teach other students (never really done either of these before) as well as the opportunity to meet new people.
My interest in commercial law stems from learning Law 12 at my high school, playing Ace Attorney games on my Nintendo DS (Google it!), and of course COMM 393.
Currently, what I like to do in my free time includes watching sports (NHL, NBA, etc.), playing sports (volleyball, ultimate, badminton), online shopping, gaming, as well as eating food (ramen, sushi, ice cream, etc.).
I got the opportunity to work as a MATH 184 workshop teaching assistant this semester. I realized how difficult it might be for first-year students to understand fundamental concepts and I was highly motivated to help! I felt comfortable with teaching math and microeconomics and so I applied to be an academic consultant!
I have been involved with track and field since high school and have stayed up to date with the latest news while training for races myself. I am also a big fan of sports and anything athletic, either as a spectator or participant. Other than that, I can waste a lot of time watching Netflix or other miscellaneous television shows. I am a big fan of Suits, The Walking Dead, and Brooklyn Nine-nine to name a few.
My spare time is limited these days with other commitments, training and commuting, but whenever I can find spare time I usually take a nap, watch Netflix, or meet with friends (to finish homework of course).
I enjoy engaging students with challenging questions as well as sharing the tricks and tips that helped me succeed as a COMM 204 student. I want to make the learning experience enjoyable and rewarding for students at all levels of capability. I love to travel and am always looking for new cities to explore! In my spare time I like to do yoga, paint, and go shopping.
Teaching is fun, except when people keep talking. Serious Answer: People often ask me for help with courses so I might as well do it on a large scale and help many people at the same time. My interests are anime, K drama, HK drama, computers, technology, and of course math. During my spare time I like to chill in CLC or Birmingham.
Fun fact: I am using my one and only lower level elective on MATH 221 in term 2. Also I can be a bit of a savage but don’t take it too seriously.
