Name: Rica and Rico
Specialization: International Business
Why did you join CMP?
Hi my name is Rica and the little one beside me is my little brother Rico. We came to Canada on a piece of floating ice that broke off from the Antarctic ice-mass two years ago. After traversing the Pacific Ocean, we landed at Wreck Beach by the University of British Columbia. At first we were completely lost. Without food or shelter we wandered around the campus in search of a place to rest. By chance we waddled into a CMP midterm review session and were spotted the the CMP executives at the door. After we explained our plight, CMP decided to adopt us into the family. Ever since, we have been an integral part of the team.
Which course have you enjoyed the most at UBC?
We have officially transferred to UBC from the University of Southern Antarctic, although the UGO is still working out what year of study we fall under. In the time we have spent at UBC, we have enjoyed every course we took. But if we have to pick our favourite, it has to be Introduction to Asian Cinema.
What is your favourite food?
Shrimp scampi with pasta.
What do you do outside of class?
We both love to swim, which we do a lot at the UBC Aquatic Center. We also love great food. So in our spare time we can be often found wandering around Downtown or Richmond in search of new culinary experience.
What’s your favourite quote?
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” – Mark Twain
What advice would you give to first year students?
What Mark Twain said.
